Unbelievably grateful and unmeasurably happy! What a Year 2019 has been. I'm over the moon with how this year went.
It's crazy to see 2019 in the rear view mirror and what the year held for me, my colleagues and all our incredible couples, wedding guests, venues & suppliers. This year has probably been my favourite working year of my life for so many different reasons. I've had the opportunity to travel far and wide (if you've read "My Story" you'll no doubt understand how much I love travelling) and doing this whilst capturing people's wedding days has made it even more fulfilling. Creating this feature, looking back over all the weddings and images I've captured, seeing the joy, happiness, tears, adulation & love has reminded me why I love what I do so much. Looking at the images and seeing how my documentary approach to weddings works so well with my creative portraits, it has made me realise I feel I have the balance of all this just right for me and all my brides and grooms.
Traditionally a lot of photographers will say this is "My Best Of" but I'm not traditional, I'm not one for "following the crowd" so I'll say this is a collection of images that have stayed with me, resonate with me and remind me of how I was able to tell not just the story of so many fabulous couples, but be able to tell the stories within the stories and show the bonds and relationships between family and friends. So many moments to look back through and remind me just how special and wonderful my "job" is. One of the most important things in life is balance, the yin and the yang. I look to provide this in my work, the correct balance when looking at story telling moments, fun and fabulous couples' portraits & real happiness for my brides & grooms.
I can't thank enough all the people who asked me to capture their weddings in 2019; it's been a heck of a ride. Thanks to you all for making me feel welcomed into your family, take an intimate look at how your family connects and approaches life - it's genuinely an honour not many people get. How often do you open the doors to your home, family, friends and pour almost every emotion you have into one day to be captured forever.
I'm looking forward to seeing more stories unfold in 2020, so if you've booked me to capture yours believe me when I say I'm excited. Buckle up, strap in, hold on tight and be ready to embrace whatever your wedding story brings!
