Modern luxury with a unique wow factor at this epic venue in the countryside, captured by Capesthorne Hall wedding photographer, Phil Salisbury.
When first worked as a Capesthorne Hall wedding photographer I was absolutely speechless at the scale and beauty of the place (if you know me, you’ll know ‘speechless’ isn’t something I am very often!). This prestigious venue in Cheshire combines an imposing building, built between 1719 and 1732, with a modern and luxurious interior and spectacular countryside views. Capesthorne Hall is a really unique and exclusive place to get married.
Whether your wedding at Capesthorne Hall is inside the main hall, in one of the ornately finished ceremony rooms, or in the beautiful, contemporary Lakeside Wing, you’ll amaze your guests with this absolute gem of a venue!
I joined Nick and Kirsty as their Capesthorne Hall wedding photographer after they found me via a recommendation, it turns out they only live a stone’s throw from me and we hit it off perfectly. They wanted their day to be stylish, relaxed, and fun – all things I was really looking forward to capturing in my signature award winning wedding photography style.
Nick and Kirsty had fallen in love with this jaw droppingly impressive venue with a modern, minimalist interior. It’s an incredible place, surrounded by 100 acres of land including formal gardens and three lakes. Their ceremony and wedding breakfast would be in the Lakeside Wing, overlooking the lakes and gardens, and their guests would arrive down the long sweeping driveway to the front of the hall with its imposing entrance – it’s almost impossible not to say ‘WOW’ out loud!
I couldn’t wait to get started with capturing their Capesthorne Hall wedding photography, the elevated views over the lake and the incredible architecture were giving me so many creative ideas! I started my day with Kirsty and her bridal party, getting ready in one of the luxury lodges on site. It was a hive of activity, with some very excited bridesmaids too!
The sense of anticipation was building as Hair by Natalie and Sarah Dunn MUA added some glamorous touches; with Kirsty being the first of her bridal party to get married the atmosphere was electric. Kirsty had arranged for personalised, engraved hangers for her and Nick’s outfits from Custom Queen Studio, and bespoke hangers and labels for the bridesmaids from Eaton Lane Labels. Both mums were also there enjoying getting ready with Kirsty, with the cutest, most smiley, and well-behaved baby ever!
Whilst I was capturing bridal prep, Paul (my second photographer for the day) was busy with Nick and the groomsmen, photographing all the important details as they got ready together. Kirsty had organised for her and Nick to have a special wedding fragrance for the day, from Pulse of Perfumery, a really thoughtful touch.
They were enjoying getting ready so much that timings overran a little (if you can’t be a bit late on your wedding day, when can you be?!) the registrar ended up coming to interview Kirsty as she finished her final preparations, before heading to the Lakeside Wing to get married.
Surrounded by windows, with spectacular views and bathed in natural light, Kirsty walked down the aisle on the arm of her dad, towards Nick in his custom-made white tux from Whitfield & Ward. Everyone in the room took an audible breath when Kirsty appeared, her Blue by Enzoani ‘Matilda’ wedding dress from The Ivory Dressing Room was absolutely perfect for her and she looked truly stunning.
Their black and white wedding theme looked effortlessly stylish and elegant, with striking black bridesmaids dresses and white flowers. Sam (also Nick’s sister and a bridesmaid!) from Heaven Scent Floral Designs created Kirsty’s fabulous white flower and eucalyptus bouquet, and matching buttonholes for the boys. Sam worked alongside Julie from White Room Floral Designs, who styled the venue with incredible florals, including a chandelier, lining the aisle with eucalyptus and petals, and SO many other gorgeous floral details for the day.
Guests of honour, French Bulldogs Rolo and Ralph had been glammed up for the day by Coopers Clips Cuts, who got them into their own doggy tuxedos and made sure they were on their best behaviour at the wedding. Rolo and Ralph are such an important part of Kirsty and Nick’s life, they just had to have their fur children with them on their big day.
The human guests were treated to some of the most beautiful canapes I have ever seen from Vanilla in AllSeasons. They did an amazing job with the food throughout the day, which was exactly what Kirsty and Nick had wanted, including an epic dirty fries and kebab evening feast – legendary!
The fizz was flowing and shots were being handed out ready to kick start their celebrations after a brilliant confetti line! Their wedding cake was an absolute masterpiece, from Linda at Buttercup Cakes – four delicious tiers including cherry bakewell, baileys and white chocolate, salted caramel, and lemon… something for everyone!
The evening reception was full of absolutely golden moments on the dance floor, zero inhibitions from their partying guests throwing shapes (and carrying babies) to the tunes played by The DFC Experience. DFC provided all the entertainment for the day, including a string quartet, wedding singer Chesqua, and DJ Stu. They really got the party going, with all the right vibes the couple had wanted for each part of their wedding.
Kirsty and Nick ended the evening with an exit through sparklers, surrounded by all their guests with smiles on their faces. It really was a brilliant day and I was loving every minute of it, which was evidenced by the fact I captured the most photos I have ever taken on a wedding day!
Thank you so much Kirsty and Nick for inviting me to join you as your Capesthorne Hall wedding photographer – you put together an absolutely gorgeous, and unforgettable day!
