Effortlessly stylish rustic charm at the ultimate luxurious countryside wedding venue, captured by Healey Barn wedding photographer, Phil Salisbury.
Rolling countryside, beautifully restored rustic buildings, and all the luxurious touches you could ever need have been included at Healey Barn by Cripps and Co. Their venues across the UK are well-known in the industry for being top-class, and I love capturing stunning celebrations as a Healey Barn wedding photographer.
Set in the Northumberland countryside, less than 20 miles from Newcastle, weddings at Healey Barn make the most of the spectacular rural location, whilst still being easy to access for your guests. I capture gorgeous North East wedding photography throughout the year, and the landscape surprises me with colour in every season.
Surrounded by mature woodland and fields divided with dry stone walls, the 18th-century stone barn has been thoughtfully restored to create something truly magical. One mile away from the wedding venue you’ll also find Healey Hall, Stable Cottage and Coach House, providing flexible accommodation for up to 34 guests in 17 well-appointed bedrooms.
It’s one of those places I get excited to visit, as Healey Barn weddings are not only uniquely beautiful but expertly run, and just you wait until you get a taste of their FOOD! The on-site catering team rustle up impressive feasts that your guests (and photographer!) will be talking about for years!
Ceremonies in the Long Barn are framed by rustic stone walls, and oak beams twinkling with fairy lights. The iron chandeliers and feature fireplace adorned with foliage provide the backdrop to your Healey Barn wedding photography, and pillar candles create a warm, romantic atmosphere for ceremonies with up to 140 guests. Cosy winter ceremonies also benefit from underfloor heating, and you can even have a roaring log fire and outdoor firepits to huddle around and toast marshmallows.
Alternatively, you could have a more intimate outdoor ceremony for your Healey Barn wedding, joined by up to 60 guests in the courtyard. The courtyard has a welcoming atmosphere and is also a great place for your guests to gather in the evening sunshine, celebrating with drinks and relaxing as the sun goes down.
Chloe and Jonny met at Newcastle University and planned their wedding at Healey Barn after getting engaged on a campervanning trip in Uluru, Australia. They added personal touches throughout the whole day with the help of Wedding Stylist, Karen Alexander, and the brilliant Healey Barn wedding team.
Chloe’s elegant Martina Liana Dress from Ava Rose Hamilton Bridal Couture, was inspired by Hollywood glamour, and of course topped off with a gold crown, because she’s a Queen! Jonny wore a superbly tailored tux from Edit Suits, and the groomsmen looked the part in matching black-tie from Moss Bros.
The long barn had been cosily decorated with candles, creating a soft and romantic light for their wedding at Healey Barn, accompanied by What The Pluck String Quartet. Healey Flowers had created awesome floral installations for the aisle and the iron chandeliers were bursting with foliage and flowers to frame some emotional moments as they said their vows surrounded by their loved ones.
After getting married, Chloe and Jonny were showered with flower petal confetti as they walked hand in hand through the courtyard, then celebrated with hugs, drinks and delicious food made by the in-house catering LEGENDS that Healey Barn and Cripps and Co are famous for.
After some group portraits overlooking the fields and trees, we had time to wander through the woodland as their guests sat for the mouth-watering wedding breakfast in the Oak Dining Room.
Their four-tier wedding cake by Alice Katie Hughes was decorated with matching foliage, and their seating plan featured names of places they’d visited together. I love capturing these personal touches as a Healey Barn wedding photographer, as so much effort goes into creating them and it’s all part of your story.
After kicking off the evening party with their first dance, Chloe and Jonny knew they’d be in for a night of legendary moves! Their guests love a bit of a dance, and they’d booked We Are Musique to keep the floor filled all night.
Part of my signature style is getting right into the dancefloor action (and throwing a few shapes in the process!), so it was a brilliant night surrounded by plenty of laughter, singing and air guitar! A live band as talented as We are Musique certainly brings the party vibes, and Chloe even did some drumming at one point too! It was a brilliantly personal wedding and a riotous evening of dancing – massive congrats to the amazing Chloe and Johnny, and thanks for having me! See more Newcastle wedding photography here
As a Manchester wedding photographer I also travel all over the UK and worldwide to capture weddings, celebrating the emotion, fun and all the party moments! Whether you are getting married at Healey Barn or looking at venues further afield, I’d love to hear about your plans so please do get in touch.
