Relaxed and unique weddings at the ultimate luxury party venue, by Holesfoot wedding
photographer, Phil Salisbury.
The secluded and exclusive hideaway at Holesfoot, Penrith is a captivating venue for Lake District weddings. With on-site accommodation for up to 50 guests, everyone can let their hair down and enjoy the celebrations to the max! Set between the Lakes and the Dales, you’ll be surrounded by gorgeous scenery and 20 acres of meadows, woodland and private gardens on the Holesfoot estate. As a Holesfoot wedding photographer, I’ll join you to capture the magic with all the emotion, fun and laughter framed by epic landscapes and luxurious décor.
Licenced to hold ceremonies indoors and outdoors, weddings at Holesfoot benefit from flexibility, plenty of space, and an incredible team who make sure everything goes to plan, nothing is ever too much trouble. Creating a unique celebration in a fab setting is what they do best at Holesfoot.
Whether you are looking for a whimsical outdoor ceremony, a grand banquet or a super relaxed and informal gathering, anything is possible here with the help of some awesome suppliers! You can even bob around on the pond in a little rowing boat called Tiggy-winkle!
Laura and Matt wanted their wedding to be laid-back, fun, and full of their favourite things. They’d organised plenty of entertainment, with air hockey and retro arcade games from R-Cade Hire, and a much-anticipated hot wing challenge from Hot Ones. They planned to spend the day with just over 30 guests, getting married and then partying hard! As a Manchester wedding photographer I capture all kinds of weddings, and this one was up there with some of the best!
The morning of their wedding was spent together having a few pre-drinks and lots of laughs with friends and family. Everyone was pitching to look after the kids, and then Laura and Matt headed off to get ready separately before seeing each other again for the big I DO!
Fell View Hair and Beauty added the finishing touches as the girls got ready. Laura’s dress was from Hoops A Daisy Bridal, and flowers for the day had been created by The Fellside Flower Company. Everyone was so fun and welcoming, and I felt like part of the family, fitting in and capturing the whole day from start to finish as Laura and Matt’s Holesfoot wedding photographer.
They’d also arranged nannies and childcare for the little ones, with The Wedding Childcare Company (who help out at North East weddings throughout the year) keeping everyone occupied. At the same time, the grown-ups let their hair down (and sorted out the important business of getting married!).
This is an awesome idea if you have lots of little family members coming to your wedding, giving parents a chance to have a few drinks and relax at the party, knowing the small humans are busy having a great time too. Think of it as a gift to your guests, and each other!
Whether you are having a chilled-out day, a crazy party, a festival wedding, or an elegant gathering for hundreds of guests, I’d love to join you and capture the real emotion of your day. Lake District wedding photography is always an adventure I welcome! If you want natural, unposed wedding photos and some epic portraits of you as newlyweds, just get in touch and we can start planning!
