Three days of luxurious celebrations captured in relaxed, authentic and emotion-filled Italian wedding photography by Phil Salisbury.
A beautiful few days of celebrations, starting with a pizza party on the night before their wedding, then a stunning outdoor ceremony and a post-wedding pool party the next day to recover in the sunshine. I captured Laura and Connor’s Italian wedding photography, while Melissa documented everything for their highlight film. We love working as a team to deliver this package, the final images and film work brilliantly together to tell your whole wedding story.
Italian wedding photography has allowed me to work at some incredible venues in locations across the country, including as a Tuscany wedding photographer, exploring Cortona, and at the amazing Tenuta Mocajo. As with all destination weddings, there’s usually a chance for spectacular pre-wedding photos in the Italian countryside, and we always arrive a little early to ensure we can take in the surroundings.
I met Laura and Connor at Ayshea and Shane’s wedding, so there were big hugs and catch-ups when everyone was reunited on Italian soil! When couples book me after a friend or family member’s wedding I take it as a huge compliment, they’ve seen how I work and the images I deliver, so I’ve already passed their vibe check!
Laura and Connor’s plans sounded legendary right from the start, they’d created a three-day Italian wedding celebration at Casa Cornacchi in Val D’Ambra, near Siena in Tuscany. The lovingly restored rural villa is on an exclusive estate, surrounded by 1000 olive trees and views that will take your breath away. It’s also not too far from the cities and airports of Florence, Pisa, Rome and Bologna, so relatively easy for guests to find their way from across the world.
Authentic local cuisine will also be a real treat for your guests, who’ll dream of the flavours and luxurious wine list long after the tables have been cleared. The bonus of a pool and terrace means you can all soak up the sun and enjoy views of the hills and vineyards from your outdoor ceremony, as well as providing the perfect location for pre and post-wedding gatherings. Laura and Connor’s pre-wedding pizza night was the ideal way for guests to relax after their journeys, and start building the excitement for the wedding the following afternoon.
Laura’s dress from Brittany Ann Bridal looked magical for their picturesque outdoor ceremony, and Lake Como based hair and makeup artist Niamh Frain made sure all the tiny details were right so Laura felt relaxed and confident. Luxury Italian wedding florist, Stiatti Fiori expertly dressed the venue with floral arrangements to suit the theme and landscape perfectly. The whole day felt relaxed, luxurious and full of personal touches, including a memory tree for those who were no longer with them.
With every detail planned to perfection and coordinated by the awesome Claudia, Laura and Connor had booked entertainment across the whole day, from their wedding violinist and Spicy Sax to their evening Band and DJ The Puppets. The lighting had also been carefully planned by Namida Elegant Events, making everything a dream to photograph.
It was one epic party, going on late into the evening with everyone filling the dancefloor and celebrating until the early hours. We love capturing the wild side of the party, when you and your guests can let your hair down, and we get right in there with the crazy dance moves, shots, and ‘tired and emotional’ hugs! Laura and Connor threw an awesome party, and everyone needed the pool party the following day to recover!
