I'd wanted to travel to New York since a very early age. With a huge passion for Basketball and other American sports NYC had a raw appeal for me to visit. With a surprise visit arranged as a special birthday gift it seemed the ideal opportunity to capture amazing moments/memories combining my passions of photography & travel.
Only shortly just after landing and leaving JFK airport it was evident that this was going to be a trip of a lifetime. Watching cities hive of activity appear before my eyes enhanced the appeal of me one day shooting a New York City wedding. The more we explored the city the more and more opportunities for creative portraits emerged, my mind being blown with just how incredible city weddings can be. The appeal grew more and more to experience a wedding as a New York City wedding photographer.
Like most I'd researched for the trip key places to visit and had a good idea of what to possibly expect but nothing can prepare you for how diverse the cultures are within New York City. It boasts a population of 8.5 million in 2020 and literally just the coolest place I've ever travelled to. From Down Town New York, to Little Italy through to China Town. The different aromas, foods, cultural practices that we experienced all in one place was incredible, like nothing I've ever encountered before and I consider myself to be reasonably well travelled.
New York has something to offer for everyone regardless is your a countryside kind of person, love the wilderness or not it won't fail to amaze. With so many places to explore I'm confident you could do or see something new everyday and not run out of options. We were fortunate enough to see NYC from the air in an open door helicopter ride with FlyNyon. This experience I can't recommend highly enough.
After the visit I feel so inspired to shoot a wedding in this sensational city. With this in mind and if you're considering getting married in New York I'd love to document your wedding here. This has now most definitely topped my bucket list of place to shoot a wedding & so if you're planning a New York City Wedding
